Cookies & Similar Technologies
Plain-English summary of how we (and our partners) store or access information on your device.
Do we use cookies?
GridRank does not set first-party cookies for core gameplay. The web app stores a device_uid
and a user_key
in local storage to obtain an auth token. This is strictly necessary for login and security.
However, ad partners (e.g., Google, Amazon) may set cookies or similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads. In Kids Mode (<13), we request non-personalized, contextual ads and mark traffic as child-directed; some partners may be disabled entirely.
What counts as “similar technologies”?
Under EU/UK ePrivacy rules, technologies like cookies, local storage, device IDs, and certain SDK identifiers are treated similarly. We use local storage only for essential authentication. Ad/measurement tools may use cookies or mobile ad IDs.
Consent & choices
- EU/UK: Where required, we present consent controls for ad/measurement cookies. If you decline, we show contextual ads (or none) and disable non-essential trackers.
- US: You may opt out of “sale/share” (cross-context behavioral advertising) where applicable and we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
- Kids Mode: We do not use personalized ads; contextual only.
Managing cookies
- Browser controls: block/clear cookies per site.
- Ad partner settings: see Privacy » Ads & measurement for links.
Changes
We’ll update this page if our use of cookies or similar tech changes.
